The Oaxaca Trailer park is still open. It's not pretty, but it's the best location if you want to spend time in the city and surroundings. The taxi ride to centro is about 50 pesos and you can get one right at the street corner there. Compare that for convenience to being out in the valley and making your way back and forth, especially if you're downtown after dark (highly recommended !). We negotiated the price at the park and I seem to remember getting it for 1400/week or less. RYV
