81 North - - -84 East - - Into MA then RT 90 East - - 495 North - - 95 North.. This will drop you about 15 minutes from New Hampshire..

as it is your first long trip with the rig I believe gbopp has given you the best advice as to route

I'am in lancaster county about 1 hour west of Philadelphia and yes I'am trying to avoid NYC area as well.

Near Erie is one route. Near Harrisburg/Scranton another and Philly a different route

In mass 84 to 495 will take you right into maine

Depending on the area of Pennsylvania you are traveling from, I've found the best route is Interstate 81 north to the Scranton area and take Interstate 84 east into New England.

Pick up Interstate 95 north of Boston. There's a couple routes you can take, check Google Maps.

I like to miss the NYC area.
