Just a guess - looks like you are at about 10,000 feet so those might be a couple of 14ers - my guess Uncompahgre National Forest,
Some where between Dunton and Telluride?
Been back there but not nearly enough to really know it but sure looks a lot like it.
You guys are close enough. It's farther north than that - I did most of my roaming in the area west of Denver and from South Park to North Park, and from the Holy Cross area to Estes Park and the Poudre Canyon area. I honestly don't remember exactly where that photo was taken more than 30 years ago, but it could be in any of those high up mining areas. No TT in those days, either tenting out of my Toyota, or backpacking.
Rick,
Really makes no difference where - the Memories are all good - I can remember going to Dunton in the early 70's when it was a Bar and a few cabins with Hot Springs, most of those photos are so old and stored in some box in the attic - But the memory is just like it was yesterday.
Your Photo is just Perfect - It shows a Road I would Love to Drive!
In Colorado when you get off the Main Roads - Heck for me Any Road - is just GREAT!
