The connection to Washington DC originally made me think of a road around Capitol Peak. But another option would be a road near Marble, since the Lincoln Memorial was constructed with Yule Marble. So is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, but of course that's in VA.
We have a Winner!
Ding ... Ding ... Ding!!!!!
"No One" knows Colorado like Ken, Yes this was a picture of the gravel road from the Quarry to the town of Marble (Not going to miss-state the direction of the road), we stopped by just by chance one year during the Marble - Marble Symposium and enjoyed a week exploring and watching the Craftsmen/Women, working on the Marble, my hope is to get back one year and capture the same picture with the Golden Aspen on this road - Neat town and a great experience, just Beautiful and so Peaceful.
Biggest problem is there are so many Places in Colorado that I want to visit during that 10 day period when the Aspen Change - So many Places and so Little TIME.
Good Job Ken, your turn.
