We are excitedly planning our maiden voyage to Alaska for 2013, so this forum and the others regarding Canada/Alaska are proving to be very helpful. We have a 2010 Milepost and have been given the 2013 edition as a Christmas gift from our daughter. Anxiously waiting for it to be printed and shipped.
We hope to leave the Midwest in mid-May making our way NW towards Glacier NP. Our tentative plan is to go to Calgary, to Jasper, to the Cassiar, and onto the Alaskan Hwy. We are looking at side trips along the way. In Alaska we will most likely start in the Kanai area and then slow make our way northward to Denali/Fairbanks.
I have a notion to drive to the Arctic Circle north of Fairbanks. Anyone have a reaction to this idea? What is this drive like? Or is it better to scratch it off the must see/do list?
Thanks!
