We stayed 5 nights in Denali NP's Riley Creek Campground prior to our 5-night stay at Teklanika. Riley has a laundry, convenient dump station and water fill. There is a lot to do in this area before the boonies of Teklanika and we easily filled up the 5 nights with activities. There are ranger programs, ranger-led easy hikes, a nice Visitor Center, the sled-dog exhibition, multiple short drives to try and spot "the mountain" and the critters. We had reservations for Teklanika but got into the area earlier so we boondocked outside the park but close by. On a whim, early the next morning we drove into the park to see about staying at Riley and we easily got a spot having no reservations. We'd recommend you stay at Riley beforehand.
