The motor coach trip is a long day but the up and back is not boring in the least. I'm not sure if they are still offering the add-on to the Yukon River fish camp, that was great. The fly/drive is a lot shorter and you get a great aerial tour. I did a lot of the ground trips to the Arctic Circle and back my first year then more trips all the way to Prudhoe Bay my other two. Much more wildlife on the one that goes all the way up, lots of migratory birds especially. To the Circle and back most of the way is in forest so your wildlife opportunities are pretty limited.
If you haven't called them yet, give them a ring. They'll tell you what's what. Great bunch of folks running the company, really want to give you a great experience. You can't make a bad choice.
