We are new members, Pat & George, taking our first trip to AK (#1 on our bucket list). We travel with our cat Whiskey. Thanks to all for the excellent information in this forum.
We are leaving Panama City Beach, FL on or about 3/20/2013 and are planning a leisurely trip on I-10,then heading to Las Vegas, Tahoe and maybe Reno, then CA, OR and Washington State and into BC. We rarely go more than 250 miles and then stay 3 days. The only reservations we made are in Seward, AK from 6/15 - 7/21.
Hubby is retired Navy and I'm an Army brat so everywhere we stop we look for a VFW, American (or Canadian) Legion, AMVETS, Fleet Reserve or Moose.
I remember seeing a suggestion in an earlier post that we put a Roll Call Alaska sign in our window. Would love to talk to others making the trip this year.
