Our take of fuel prices including Alaska. We can stay at home or not and our choice is to travel. Given that we do try to minimize the prices. Smartphones are great for that - if we're in a higher priced area and a lower priced area is ahead then we continue driving to the lower priced area. And the reverse it true.
And we only use AMEX with a 5% cash back on fuel. When possible we also use AMEX for travel including CGs and restaurants with 2% cash back. Hopefully Alaska stations will accept AMEX.
Due to transaction fees Visa will be our card of choice in Alaska.
And most important to us is the advice on these boards to be prepared for cash purchases due to common internet problems.
Bank America has a cash back rewards card that gives back 3% on gas and they have a 1500.00 per quarter limit. If you combine that with the Piolet gas point card it equals 5% and with AMEX it would equal 7%.
Glad to know that Visa is good for Alaska thanks.
