Today, I called several departments in Canada requesting info regarding what I may and may not "import" into Canada.
1. I may NOT bring firewood, even if it is wrapped in the original plastic.
2. If we have food, it must be in a store container (Unopened) and NOTHING homemade. It was explained to me that someone can put something inside of it...which brings us to.....
3. Dog food must be UNOPENED and in it's original bag. I was asked if the dog food had any beef and when I said no, his food is salmon based, to which the lady replied "good".
4. I may not bring a pistol and if I want to bring my rifle it cannot be shorter than 26 inches. I assured her it is a standard hunting rifle. She is sending me a form so that I can declare it in advance.
