Our diesel truck has about a 250 mile range when we're towing the fifth wheel. We try to stay on the top half of the tank so that means we're filling up around 150 miles. No problems finding diesel.
Even so, we carry extra diesel with us because we can't predict when a service station is going to be out of fuel for a few days, until the delivery truck shows up. Apparently the can't even predict or they'd have deliveries more often!
The only place it is a concern is on the Dempster Highway where this the distance from the start of the highway to Eagle Plains is 370km (230 miles).
HI there Sue ! :)
Has some place for fuel been added between Watson Lake and Ross
River ? The last time we went that way there was not anything at all along that road except for a spot about half way that Indians had set up a camp and were smoking moose and making jerky. seems it was about 235 miles between the two places .I remember meeting but one vehicle traveling toward Watson lake, and there were many stretches of the road that had grass growing between the wheel tracks in the center. But this was back in 1970 and a whole lot of water has run under the bridge since then.
