Yes it is. The anticipation is more exciting than the trip. Spent hours upon hours planning the first trip north. Learned some lessons. Applied them to the second trip. Learned some more.
If we go next year it will be at a slower pace. Alaska is alot like going to an island only you are surrounded by wilderness instead of water. The trick is to slow down, stop, & enjoy the views instead of the fast stop for a photo op & go.
We're panning on 3 months maybe 4 depending on whether we leave in June or July.
We plan on boondocking a few days, the campgrounds for a few and back and forth. It's not the money mind you I just would love to take in the wildlife and sights. Go slow is what I'm seeing everyone recommending.
If you leave from Maryland we might just see you on the road.
