Our plans include a stay in Denali NP, at the Teklanika campground, a drive to the Arctic Circle, a week in Haines, Lake Louise and the wine county in Kelowna.
Sounds like a great trip. We did it last year and had a wonderful time, although we stayed at Riley Creek, not Teklanika. Our 4 days at the very well-maintained Hitch-Up RV Park in scenic, laid-back Haines almost made us forget the 3 days of cruise-ship crowds and jam-packed Garden City RV Park we endured in Skagway.
Our first visit to the Okanagan Valley last summer was so enjoyable that we have it on our list of favorite destinations for a return trip. One of the best meals on our trip was a spur-of-the-moment detour for lunch on the terrace of the Quail's Gate Winery in West Kelowna. We had a table overlooking a beautifully landscaped garden with blooming flowers, the hillside vineyards, the lake, and the distant hills--delicious and gorgeous isn't a sufficient description!
Being from Montana, you have probably been to Banff and Jasper before. But, if you haven't spent several days in Lake Louise, be sure to drive over Kicking Horse Pass into Yoho NP. There you can view one of the engineering marvels of Canada--the Spiral Tunnels on the Canadian Pacific Railway--and one of Canada's highest waterfalls at Takakkaw Falls.
Well now, you got me looking. Just spent the last hour or so re routing. Cut out the intentions of going to Jasper then N to Prince George. We have been to Jasper already.
Inserted going over KHP, on to a bit west of Kamloops then N to Prince George.
Thankyou.
