We will be heading to Alaska mid June. This will be our 3rd trip, having gone in 2011 and 2012. The first time, we pulled a 16 foot Scamp trailer and ended up selling it in Alaska. We then drove to Backus, MN and picked up our 19 foot 5th wheel Scamp which has a bit more room. In 2012, that is what we pulled to Alaska.
I am really enjoying the Alaska discussions and will continue to post as our plan become more firm. I do know that we plan to be in Seward for the 4th of July. My husband and I are both runners and we really enjoy watching the Mount Marathon event on the 4th.
We will spend time in Seward, Talketna, Valdez, Soldatna, and Kenai for sure. Other than those places which are on our list. We will probably just move around as we are drawn by our fancy. The first two trips, we went to Fairbanks first and then to Denali and points beyond. In 2012, also went to Hyder to see the bears, but I am ashamed to admit that we did not drive back to the glacier, so we will probably return there this year.
I did keep a blog for both trips and I will eventually post a link to that for those of you who might be interested.
