And as I like to tell my friends about the legal border crossings without any border agents -or is that illegal border crossings?: Cross into the US - Hyder - no agent, then Canada on the Salmon Glacier road - no agent , then the US - Hyder - no agent. But then the Canadian agent going back to Stewart asked where we were going and I replied back to the CG. "OK, have a nice day". I think he felt obligated to ask us something. And we did have our passports.
OK, another change of plans. This is why a northern tripshould never be rushed. Followed the road up to Salmon Glacier. We are 2WD but dirt roads do not stop me. I do what is safe to do & turn around before getting into trouble. The only concern is will the road be open? I am looking at being in the area around the last week of May.
Oh well, if we can we can. I we can't we can't. Then there is that little thing called weather.
