Here is the Campbell Highway we encountered in 2008...so few vehicles travel this route that there were no pilot cars, no flag people at this zone.
The next zone had a flag person who advised, "Go slow, stay out of the way of the equipment." We put the truck in 4x4 and it pulled the fifth wheel through without issue, otherwise I would have been standing in front of the big yellow machine demanding it pull us out. I took this picture after the worst of it...when I finally let go of the grab/safety bar inside the truck! We had mud to the hubs before this!
