We are planning our trip to AK for this year. I am concerned about internet transactions using the campground wifi. Does anyone have any experience with "Hotspot Shield VPN"?
I have used a Verizon hotspot device since 2006. It is private and secure. I use that for banking or purchases. Roaming costs through Canada will apply. I just skip using it for the 6 days I go through Canada and use the RV park wifi.Or, forget about the world completely and not use the internet. My bill to Verizon is $50.08/month. It even works at my home in Alaska. There are no roaming charges for it in AK.
Thanks! We, too, use Verizon wireless hotspot in the US an have found it good...although we have to keep expanding our GB allowance! We are planning about 3 weeks through CN and didn't want to away from our financial links that long. Therefore we were trying to find an alternative that would provide security at less cost than using the VZW hotspot. The Hot Spot shield seemed to be a possible alternative.
