Turn them off, put them away, enjoy the scenery. The world will continue without you being part of it for awhile. There are enough places with WIFI to touch base with civilization every so often.
I'm sure it's nice to be retired and have no responsibilities to anyone but yourselves. For me, I'm still working and taking a lot of time off to make this trip. I need to be accessible to the folks making it possible.
I did not have those who have a very valid business need to be connected in mind. Perfectly understandable.
It is the ones who you see with the phones constantly in hand or heads buried in them doing whatever it is that is so vitally important in their private lives. They may not have a drug addiction but they do have a phone addiction.
