How many of you are hams? I have enot been active for some time, but I am getting set up to use my UHF/VHF and HR rigs on the trip. I have a Yaesu FT-857D and am ordering a Larsen glass mount antenna for the motor home. Also a Buddipole for HF at the campground. What HF frequencies do you monitor? Let's start a ham list so we can stay in touch on the road.
When I travelled in Yukon and Alaska, I opened my Hams radio many times and scanned from 144 to 148,I never heard anyone on the radio. I did check the Ham Radio Map, and yes, there are some towers, but unfortunatly, I did not hear anyone.
If anyone can help on this, let us know
