With the signs up more people will approach you and we met some wonderful people on the road and in the RV parks on the way up also.

Well I may have a problem then. I have the sign we made for our postponed 2013 trip, back in the RV and ready to post. It's a good size sign at 12"W X 18"T, we're going cross out the '3' in 6/10/13 (our anniversary)and make it a '4'. It's a metal green street sign, and I'll post it with two small zinc leg bolts, with a rubber washer to insert between the zinc washer and the sign itself.
I wonder what they would say to me installing my own new post, if needed:)!
Best to all, be safe, and have fun,

I think this got off on the wrong track. You're talking about two different 'signs'.
Janet Rupp's 2013 group traveling last year made signs for their RVs so folks from this forum could be easily recognized. They could be made on the computer and just taped inside a window or a weatherproof one to be attached outside, perhaps on the RV ladder.
The other 'sign' mentioned is at Signpost City, a neat place that everyone should stop. Folks traveling bring along a sturdy wood or metal sign with their name or hometown, or specific group mentioned, etc. and there are tall posts where these signs can be hung with nails or whatever. This tradition began many years ago and there are thousands of signs hung. It is really neat to wander among them and exciting when you spot one from someone you know or your hometown. I'm not sure how they install additional posts when one get full. Sometimes you need a ladder to find an open space to hang yours. :)
