Here was my conversation: "Where are you going?", "How long will you be in Canada?" "Do you have any Guns" (if I said yes, convo would have been different), "Do you own any guns?" (again a yes would have another result" "have a nice day".
Are you saying they asked whether you own guns? I assume from your comment that your answer was "No," but a large percentage of travelers could not say that honestly. If you answer "Yes," does that trigger a rig search? A look at my Texas license plates tells them the answer before they ask the question.
