We had 3 chips repaired by mobile guy in the toad in WH thinking that would hold for the trip. Next day out of WH we got a huge crack on the DS! Actually aside from the cost that was a blessing as we got a new windshield when we returned home that the insurance paid. Really nice to have a good clear windshield again.
So: Anticipate more and if it doesn't happen great. The worst part was crossing the Rockies on the Alaskan Highway.
Advice: If you repair dings then do so in hopes that you'll prevent further damage. Otherwise DON'T be concerned about cracks. 50% of the cars in WH have cracks to never be repaired.
