Thanks for the suggestion, Bob, but I have a Casita, no roof vent. When I had the trailer at the shop the guy did knock on the flue and got some stuff out which he vacced up. He removed the jet and cleaned it but after doing more research online this morning I am pretty sure he did not remove or clean the actual burner and in fact it was in place when he was knocking stuff out of the flue. Duh!
It's finally stopped raining so I checked under the trailer for dents in the gas line and don't see or feel any. When I was looking at the line at the back of the fridge and peeking behind the cowl that hides the burner I realized that the wire that goes in there (maybe to the igniter) was easy to move up or down and that when I did move it the open end of the burner also moved.I figured that can't be good. It only moved about 1/8 inch up or down and because of gravity was down which meant that the gas from the jet wasn't going exactly into the middle but slightly above middle. Maybe that doesn't seem like a big deal but I figured it shouldn't be bouncing around or movable so I got a bit of wire and wrapped it around that wire and the gas line to the jet, not tight but enough to prevent any movement. Seems silly but I think that helped. the flue seems hotter and the horizontal tubes are warmer than I remember them being lately but given the cold temps outside it would't take much warmth to encourage me. I'll check the tubes in a hour or 2 see if the temp in the fridge goes up or if it will now stay cool.
