most of the damage we have heard about or seen is due to speed of travel. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to go slow, or even stop if necessary. My husband often pulls over into a rest area or wide part of the road in order to let others pass us. If a truck is coming at us too fast he will also slow down considerably (or stop if possible) until he passes.
i feel much safer traveling slow, the motor home also feels better, and we see so much more.
