We had heard this from a couple that took a day drive down and out to Savage Creek Loop for a day hike, they were close to us in Fairbanks. So we planned our drive day South to be on a Sunday. Still lots of dirt, but not much road work going on so we only had to go slow for the road. If possible, others might want to see if they could time this section on a Sunday. (Don't know about Saturday, could be the same?)
