In addition to the most recent rain in the Alaska Interior....
Particularly within Denali Nat'l Park as the roadway is currently flooded and washed out between Wonder Lake and Kantishna, while the roadway just west of the Eielson Center had gotten blocked off by a rock slide.
For those who have reservations for a day trip to Wonder Lake within the next few days, forget it as no traffic can go beyond mile 66 at the Eielson Center.
It is also reported upon guests stranded in Kantishna in which park officials have made contingency plans to start getting people out by helicopter, because the Kantishna airstrip is also underwater and inactive at this time, thus no evacuation efforts can be made by plane.
Just goes to show you that here in the far north, expect the unexpected.
