We are now at the Willawaw Campground on the Portage Road leading to Whittier. We will be there again tonight and then tomorrow, we will head to Stoney Creek RV Park outside Seward.
We spent this morning in Whittier and the afternoon in Girdwood where we drove up to the Crow Creek trailhead where we had a an up close view of glacier melt as the water cascaded over rocks and down the mountain. This was absolutely beautiful.
Regarding Seward and how busy it will be over the 4th, we absolutely love watching the Mt Marathon race, the parade and eating chicken dinner and pie and coffee at various churches.We have reservations for July 2 arrival and July 6 departure. After that, we will play it by ear as far as where we will go. We do plan on spending quite a bit of time in the Kenai area, but where that will be will depend on how busy things are and where we can park our Scamp. We have been doing lots of boondocking and will probably continue that at the Fred Meyer in Soldatna and the Walmart in Kenai. We have been in Alaska for about two weeks and plan to stay until we are ready to head home.
