We are back in the land of internet, Palmer, Mountain View for 3 nights, after 7 nights of dry camping, Sterling Rec site, 1 night, Deep Creek beach, 3 nights, Ninilchik View State Rec area (very nice), 1 night then Williwa/Portage, for 2 nights.
Weather has been kind with only the arrival day at Deep Creek being yucky.
The tide has changed & we are on our way back south. Undecided which way to go. Back down the Cassiar for more roadside animals or the Alaska Highway.
Decisions, decisions.
Veebyes ,
We know deep creek but where is ninilchik view point ? Is it dry or hookups ? Thanks
The state of Alaska could do much better at marking the entrances to their recreation area campgrounds. Ninilchik view is one of the hidden gems.
It is near enough 3 miles east of the entrance to the Deep Creek CG. Right at the east end of where all of the charter offices are & sort of across the road from the library & off the carpark of a cafe.
Very well kept. No power, no water at sites but has a dump & fresh water available. We had a site overlooking the river & village plus a favourite eagle perch not 50' from the back of our trailer.
