so sorry to hear about your 5th wheel. if it helps at all, our first trip to Alaska was in 2008. we loved it and considered it the trip of a lifetime, with thoughts of someday returning.
we crossed the border 9/22/08 to return to the lower 48 and on 12/11/08 we got some devastating news that caused us to stop our fulltiming rving and of course all hopes of returning to Alaska.
Well, 6 years later we returned and it's just as wonderful (actually, more so).
Hope this encourages you to remember to look forward and that this is just another of life's "bump in the road".
