Thats it! I'm done. Back on the East Coast. Time to go through all the pictures & take care of a few minor battle scars.
Go back? Hope so. It would be trip #4. Check me in 3 or 4 years.
Same here. We just got back home yesterday afternoon after about 12,000 miles of driving. Will we go back? Yes! But we are planning a trip via a cruise in 2-3 years just to see the other side of Alaska.
The TOW was the best part of the drive and not as bad as people say if you drive the road not the speed. We were told it was the coolest and rainiest spring and summer in several years in Alaska and area, but we still enjoyed it. The mosquitoes? Well, the only place we found them was at the Arctic Circle and one campground in Ontario just outside of Saulte St. Marie. As for battle damage--it all occurred just east of Bismarck, ND in a construction zone on I-94. No damage until we were in ND. Amazing!
Agree, AK was rainy and cold this year. We also found the bad mosquitos at the Artic Circle campground and on the way to Deadhorse it was horrible, closer to the Artic Ocean. Other than that, just a few bugs here and there, not bad.
