Milepost is a great resource for those who want to boondock/drycamp along the way. It lists every little turnout, road widening, creekside stop, sideroads, hiking trails, etc. It also mentions good fishing spots and wildlife areas. Historical info too. This much info could be overwhelming for some.
A negative with the Milepost is they don't provide much information about commercial facilities that aren't also advertisers. Thus, the info about the facilities should be taken with a grain of salt.
In addition to the post-it note suggestions, I also used a yellow & pink highlighter to mark spots we wanted to check closer.
