The Campbell Highway's conditions vary greatly year-to-year.

If you bypass Whitehorse on your way north, you'll need to resupply with food in Watson Lake, there's only one decent grocery store in Watson Lake and it is an expensive one. Neither Ross River or Faro have well-stocked grocery stores.
We've also been in Ross River when the one & only gas station was out of regular fuel, fortunately we use diesel so were able to continue. It can take 2-3 days before a delivery truck arrives with more fuel.
There are nice Yukon gov't campgrounds along the way. The ONLY campground with services is in Faro. There is no campground in Ross River.
Do check road conditions before leaving Watson Lake. The Campbell Highway can be rough & muddy, and sometimes it has washouts. Most of the traffic on it are ore trucks from a mine. It's not an overly popular route with tourists.
