I'm thinking seriously about doing Alaska next year. We wanted to go three years ago, but it was our first year pulling a 5ver and I thought that some experience would be good. The 4800 miles from our door to Fairbanks was a deterrent too.
But our youngest kid wants to visit Montana Univ and we plan to drive him up there in June. He plans to fly back from there. That's a good start for us.
One question, how do you handle the pet certificate you need to enter Canada? If I recall it's only good for 90 days, do you get it renewed in AK?
