Hows the hi-way in winter? Drove out from Ft Rich in Nov.of 76. New tires, belts, hoses, shocks, oil and oil/fuel filters. Big bag of arctic survival gear. Shovel and 4 spare headlights,(dark for a long time in winter).Covered radiator of 72 4 speed 4x4 F250 Ford. Had a non cab over camper. First night in Glenn Allen, 2 sleeping bags and cold. Next day the engine temp almost got to normal climbing the road towards TOK. Going down into the valley towards Tok it was so cold engine temp dropped to the cold mark, heater quit working, had to put on the survival jump suit to stay warm. 7 days from Anchorage to OKC, snow packed. Uncovered the radiator outside of Edmonton, checked the new shocks, all 4 were blown out and leaking fluid. But great drive, no problems.
Going back this spring to see how much things have changed in 39 years. Richard
