Fred Meyer stores are one of Alaska's wonders. More grocery store than Walmart and more general store than Safeway, they are the Kroger chain for the Pacific NW and Alaska. All have free WiFi, many have gas stations--often the cheapest around with your Kroger card, and some have RV dumps and water. And as Joe B. mentions, the Soldotna store is even great for fisherman and overnight campers. Wish we had them in more of the West!
Any Kroger company chain store card can be used at any of their stores. We have the Frys card and have used it for the fuel discount at Fred Myers, etc. As such Kroger is widespread across the US.
