The bug to return has bitten! After our third motor home trip to Alaska in 2010, we planned to return in 2013 and again in 2014. But each year medical issues got in the way. This time I think we will be able to join the flock headed North in 2015. Our only limitation will be how many days of the wife's medical supplies we can stow in the MH at one time. Since Medicare won't pay for supplies delivered in Canada, refills will be necessary once we get to AK and again before we cross back into Canada. So, that will dictate how many days we will have going through Canada each way.
Another limitation will be the need for mains power each evening. The DW is on PD and needs to be connected to her machine each evening and it draws up to 600W or more. The last trip in 2010 was before she went on PD and we spent many nights boondocking which we really enjoyed. Some careful planning should negate the need for any pre-planning such as reservations. We don't like to have to be on any kind of a schedule.
We will leave Illinois in mid to late may depending on the weather and plan to be in northern Canada in time to see the new crop of young animals. Our return will be in late July or early August.
Hope to see you all along the way
