I would also want to have a generator with me, to ensure I had power regardless of my location, for the Peritoneal Dialysis machine.
Things happen, such as road closures or power outages (we've gone 24 hours without power at -40F at our cabin!).
If the PD machine is essential, then it is best to be able to generate your own power. Then you could also still enjoy boondocking when the site suits you!
In the past few years:
- the AK Hwy has been closed south of Whitehorse for four days due to flooding.
- AK Hwy closed north of Whitehorse for 24 hours or more to flooding.
- Cassiar Hwy has been closed for 48 hours due to flooding.
- Cassiar Hwy closed due to forest fires.
