Just returned from my 10-week, 12,000 mile trip there and back again. It was an awesome, almost overwhelming experience--and I'm just talking about the expanse of wilderness up around the Campbell Highway and the Top of the World Highway. I skipped Denali and the Dalton Highway at the last minute due to persistent rain, cold and fog, which made the extra 2,000 miles seem pointless. Suffered two severed brake lines on the TT while on gravel roads, plus a broken leaf spring on the TT. Thank God I was running Michelin XPS Ribs, or else the tires collapsing together would have resulted in two blowouts. Made eight border crossings in all and was summarily waved through each (and no line at any of them!)
I am totally up for a return engagement!
