I love reading these threads. I'm in the planning stage for a trip in 2018. I'm working on a list of things I want to see and do and a plan to do them. I retire in 2018, so that's why the long delay.
The RV is in the shop getting a new roof and awnings. I'm planning on getting new tires for the truck later this summer. Next year I'll get a US passport and an auxiliary fuel tank for the truck. I'll buy new tires for the fifth wheel just before I leave.
My itinerary is going to be very similar to what GGEORGE posted above.
In the meantime I keep looking at these Alaska threads to get ideas for places to stop, things to do, and stuff to pack.
