Unfortunately there's no perfect solution. Prior to having a thread for each specific year's travel to Alaska, there were dozens of individual threads that were completely disconnected which made it extremely difficult for rv'ers wanting to connect with others. We were continuously getting notifies and complaints that members were posting duplicate threads about the same topic which in itself makes searches difficult. It is why the forums have a 'no duplicate' posts rule.
In 2013 member JANETRUPP initiated the first of the yearly travel threads that essentially consolidated everyone's intentions for that year. It a member wanted others to be aware of their Alaska trip plans then that was the place to post it.
As a result of member feedback, it was determined to be the most appropriate process for subsequent years also. If members haven't the patience to scan through one thread each year, you can imagine how they would feel about needing to scan through multiple threads for each year for the same result.
