We have been thinking and planning for about 3 year's now(since retirement). All along I figured we'd take the Motorhome but my last thought, is to tent it? (I know, Crazy...but it's not in stone yet). We would be taking our sweet time with no rush whatsoever. Has anyone heard of such a lame brain thought as tent camping to Alaska? It's not as though I need to go get all this camping gear, I have it still from the good old day's(minus a new tent).
So it looks like 2017 for us, MH? Tent? who know's.....those of you going this year...have a Great time!!!
I have been traveling with a tent in my young days, also in BC Canada with the bears around, but in Alaska!!
I saw a few on bikes that had no choice, and some with a tent mounted on the back of a van door trunk. The thing is: moskitos, biggg ones, bears all over, big ones, rain, and if you get a bad year it can rain many many days like in 2014 there was not many days without rain, day light all night long and no way to get shade, and at night be prepare for cold nights, especially along the water like in Homer or up north.
