Once you're on the Alaska Highway and camping, you'll find that you tend to meet up with the same people time and again. You'll see familiar RVs in campgrounds and rest areas along the way. Everyone has to take the same roads so you'll meet up often enough.
When soaking in Liard Hotsprings you'll hear some tall tales of how horrid the highway is, or how terrible another place is, or how great another spot is. Take it all with a grain of salt. Time & time again we hear how awful the Top of the World Highway is out of Dawson City, yet it remains one of our favourite drives. We just don't do it in a day, preferring to take 2-3 days and enjoy some boondocking along the way.
