Dang, I can't believe how many folks are planning to visit Alaska this year. Won't get any cheaper as fuel prices localy have begun to rise again where I live.
Current exchange rate is $0.78 US per $1.00 Loonie CD dollar. We plan to buy a couple grand worth once in BC the day we leave home and enter Canada at the first bank we come across. Along with food supplies for a few days on the road heading north.
I plan to buy generator gasoline in Canada since they don't screw it up with alcohol like the US EPA is requiring in the US.
I'm starting to see light at the end of the project tunnel with regards to pre-trip projects. Just a few little things and then there is that packing thing. We have a trip in a couple weeks and then a long weekend of food concession that we organize as a fund raiser that takes a couple weeks of running around like chickens with our heads cut off to insure it runs smoothly.
We're ready for a vacation.
