I have been planning this trip for 4+ years. It is now time to update my estimates and make my reservations. Estimate Wash/BC border about 5 May 2016, north on route 97/1/2 to Tok, south to Valdez...

I have a second question:
this will be our 3rd trip to Alaska. the other 2 times we went through dawson creek to whitehorse, then tok, then fairbanks, anchorage and then the kenai, then headed out on the cassiar.we found the weather in valdez and seward to be rainy later in the season. thought we'd go "clockwise" this time-drop down from tok toward glen allen, valdez, etc...
but, we would miss liard hot springs, muncho lake, etc...
can someone give me pluses or minuses as to which way to go?
we are looking forward to doing some "different" stuff this time so want to get off the beaten path a bit more.
