I'm missing something here? I believe Muncho Lake and Liard Hot Springs are in BC between Ft Nelson and Watson Lake. If you take the Alaskan Highway you will pass both of these areas before you reach the Yukon.
We like to come out of AK on The Taylor and Top Of The World in the fall. As Sue says the colors are spectacular that time of year, the road is in better condition, and there are fewer tour buses in mid September.
We like to take the Cassiar on the way out with a side trip to Stewart/Hyder and the Salmon Glacier.
