We flew out to Barrow a couple weeks ago for our mandatory Arctic Ocean toe dip. Got lucky and saw a polar bear about 1/4 mile off shore on the edge of the ice. We probably watched him for an hour. At first he was swimming between the ice and shore trying to catch some ducks! No luck there. Next he climbed on the ice and was walking when he discovered a traffic cone someone had left on the ice. It took him all of 2 minutes to destroy the cone! After all that exercise he was so tired he had to lay down and take a nap! All in all it was a red letter day!
