Took the 0700 bus shuttle to Eielson Visitor Center this morning. After we passed the Ranger HQ a truck pulling a bear cage passed headed east with a bear inside. Bus driver confirmed road and campground closed at savage river when we passed mm 12.4 going west into park. Driver said only those who desired to stay were authorized but no new campers were left in until bear problem solved.
At 3PM on our way east past Savage River campground signs were down and road open to traffic.
