Dawson tends to get full during events. Even the Yukon gov't campgrounds can get a bit busy.
If so, consider heading 70km (50 miles) up the Dempster to Tombstone Park. It is beautiful there. The highway is in good shape as far as the park. Good gravel. Easy drive, just a couple of hours. Well worth it. Nice campground there, with no hookups though. Lots of good hiking around the area.
