- sue_tExplorerMay 12 - snow falling at Sikanni Chief, which is about 175 km north of Fort St. John. There's also a rainfall warning between Fort St John and Fort Nelson.
This image will update automatically. On May 12 at 7:20 pm it showed LOTS of snow. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIII'm sure you'll find many travelers once you cross into Canada. It's not a lonely road and won't be a lonely trip. :) You'll meet up with the same folks over and over again. They're all going the same places. Have a great summer!
- YodaRulesExplorerI created a new topic then was directed to this 2017 Roll Call to Alaska. Anyone here still heading up to Alaska in the first half of June? I plan to leave north central Florida heading to a boondocking spot in the Badlands south of Wall.
Wondering if there are others on this same path?

Sue, you'll enjoy TC's April 9 blog post about the travelers they meet on their trips up and down the Alaska Highway HERE.
Some folks just need to make miles, which I understand.
This August there is a vintage jeep convoy making the trip to Alaska in honor of the Alaska Highway's 75th anniversary. They plan to stop for a visit to see my 1943 FORD GPW Jeep.
I would love to see that jeep convoy, but I will be in Fairbanks in June, not August. So please post photos on RV.net of all those jeeps at your place. They'll love that WWII-vintage jeep that your dad "rescued"! - PA12DRVRExplorer

Our friends TC and Dave and their 20+ sled dogs just returned to Colorado from their new, post-fire cabin in Willow, AK. Wish I could convince them to stop and see you and Steve on one of their spring or fall trips.
Seeing many Alaskans returning home in their RVs. Lots of Alaska plates driving by heading north this weekend.
Have a great summer with all your new 2017 Alaska Highway "friends"!
FWIW, the trial for the Sockeye fire (i.e. Willow) is starting / has started. Will be interesting to see how that goes. - sue_tExplorer

It was put on hold till next year so now everyday we moan about where we could be by now, about leaving Maryland, if we were going.
Oh well, this is keeping us home till July 5th then we can start some travelling.
Alaska next year. - fanrgsExplorer

Where you going to work in Alaska for the park service?
