People do "winter RV" up here...there's even a few hardy souls that live in their RV throughout the winter..... I couldn't recommend that as even in a warmer part of Los Anchorage (which is itself often referred to as the "banana belt" of Alaska), it's currently a nippy 2 degrees on my deck.
RV'ng (both visitors and locals getting out) is a bit more active in March when most of the winter temps have abated a bit....in a relative sense of course.
